Monday's Game 9/24

The Twins begin their end-of-season 7 game road trip tonight at 7 PM EST in Detroit. Carlos Silva (12-14 4.40) will face off against the Tigers' Nate Robertson (8-12 4.94). With another lefty starting today, I would be very impressed to see Ron Gardenhire get Buscher and Casilla in the lineup again, but I would be even happier to see the Twins actually beat a division rival. I know this was touched on in Saturday's preview, but I couldn't help but bring it up again. Minnesota has lost 7 straight games to both the Tigers and the Indians, while they haven't won a series against the White Sox since the end of May. The Twins haven't even been able to beat up on Kansas City this year, finishing the season with just a 9-9 record against them. Overall, the Twins' divisional record this year stands at 27-42 (which is an embarrassing .391 winning percentage), the worst such record in the majors. Let's hope they can turn it around a bit here at the end of the year with a series win and maybe even a sweep against Detroit.
