Delmon Young has been placed on the bereavement list because of a serious illness in his family. He'll be in California for at least a few days, so Jose Morales has been called up to take his place on the roster. I think it's safe to assume that Morales will be with the team for the whole New York series, although Young technically only has to miss three days for being on the bereavement list.
During his time in Rochester, Morales played 9 games and hit .267/.421/.333 over 38 plate appearances. If you glanced at that quickly, you may have missed that he had an IsoD of .154 in his brief time in AAA--that's because he had an excellent 8:4 walk-to-strikeout ratio. In only 4 games at catcher (he DHed in the other five), Morales allowed yet another passed ball and three stolen bases, though he did catch one runner.
He probably won't be here for long, unless the Twins decide in a few days they'd rather have him than Brian Buscher or Carlos Gomez. I don't find that likely, especially Gomez, so he shouldn't get too used to the major league clubhouse.
