Twins on Twins was created on a whim by Twin #1 and his friend, Willy Wah, a Minneapolis resident, while sitting in the third floor Charles Pratt common room of Amherst College. It was very late on a Thursday night (so it was technically Friday) and Wah was creating his own blog, at which point he suggested Twin #1 create a blog about the Minnesota Twins. So he did on Friday, September 14th, 2007, the day after Terry Ryan resigned as Twins' general manager.
From reading the first post, it's pretty obvious that it was not originally a serious idea that he intended to do much with, but immediately thereafter it began to blossom. By the time Twin #2 officially joined the writing team on September 18th (though the intent for him to write was there from the start), posts were being churned out daily or even multiple times a day. Not too long after the end of the 2007 season, though, entries started becoming less and less frequent. Posting could be described as sporadic throughout the entire 2008 season, and the following off-season it dropped off even more.
However, with the start of the 2009 baseball season, Twins on Twins underwent a huge site overhaul, including finally having a hit counter installed! With that, the writers were reinvigorated and posting returned to an almost daily posting schedule. After the 2009 season, posting again reverted to a sporadic pattern, this time lasting until the end of June 2010, when posting resumed a semi-regular schedule.
There is no exact timetable for when posts are done, nor are there any regular features. We've experimented with doing those--from Hot & Cold to monthly summaries to division wrap-ups--but they cause us to lose interest and make posting more of a job than a fun hobby. For that reason, we write when we want about what we want, which just so happens to usually be about the Twins (during baseball season at least) and happens to be quite often (at least for Twin #1).
